Default Anyone lay this down?

PP25NL. Villain is a solid player, as indicated by his stack size. Was this stupid (i.e. should I have gotten away) or just poker?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 4 handed) converter

SB ($27.95)
Hero in BB ($113.25)
Villain is UTG ($178)
Button ($53.4)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
Villain calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, SB (poster) completes, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1.5</font>, Villain calls $1.50, SB folds.

Flop: ($4.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $4</font>, Villain calls $4.

Turn: ($12.50) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $9</font>, Villain calls $9.

River: ($30.50) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Villain bets $50</font>, Hero calls $98.25 (All-In), Villain calls $48.25.

Final Pot: $227

Preflop raise was revolting. But I'm playing the rest of the hand this way.

I dont understand the river raise. What is he calling with that you can beat? Check/call is ok. Bet river/fold to raise is okay. You have shown nothing but strength in this hand. I can't see anything you beat calling your raise on the river.

I agree with you on the pre-flop raise and was baffled by it as I reviewed the hand - I never raise less that 4xBB. I think it was a mis-click. Oh well.

why reraise the mass overbet -he's called all the way and very possibly has a boat. not sure u should even call but if you feel he's making a move after your check just call.
