Writing my College Essay on Poker?

Absolutely. I remember being 18, and writing some idiot essay that probably hurt my app. This is one time to listen to the older, wiser, more jaded folks.

You would be better off writing your essay about how you saved someone from the evils of internet gambling. Or how you volunteered at a homeless shelter and realized how we're all the same, deep down, even if some of us smell really bad. Or anything else, just make sure you tell how you learned and grew.

I still think it's a bad idea btw. Some guy in the thread said he wrote his on poker and got into princeton, I think the comparison between situations is poor.
