do you think that its possible to scalp WSOP tickets?

lets say that you got a hold of 10 WSOP tickets this year for 10k+buyin each, do you think that you could scalp them for more money than they are actually worth considering that the tournament is sold out? i think there are enough flounders out there that could care less about the 1-2k profit you make as long as they get to play.

How is it sold out? It's a tourney with no cap on number of entries isn't it? Also, most people who sell seats they win in satellites get less than 10k for them so the answer is no.

AFAIK it's a 6k cap, and 600 alternates.

You have to give your name when you register, and after that the registration is nontransferable.

i have heard stories of people selling satellite chips for a premium to people standing in line to pay the entry. the premiums were tiny. however, if it does sellout, you absolutely will be able to charge a premium, but best place to do this would be at or near the registration desk.

otoh, if they were to announce 3 weeks early that it were sold out, i'll bet you can get great premiums on ebay

When the main event has sold out, what would be the advantage of buying lammers (satellite chips)?

of buying them? i dunno if i understand question. anyhoo, if the main event is sold out and i have 10k in lammers, i may be able to get 12k for them.

edit:

i think i understand question now.
lammers will be accepted. they won't award more lammers than they can handle in entrants i'm sure. they will know how many have been used for earlier events and how many are still out there and accomodate all i'm sure. don't you think? i could be wrong

is this true? they have said no more direct buy-ins will be accepted?

btw, i still think they will figure out a way to accomodate more than 6600 if it becomes apparent that they could sell many more. i think they claimed a hard cap of 2,000 last year but that changed as event drew near.
