Default T-T hand with 13 left in the tourney.....

7 at my table, 13 left in $100 +9 Party multi last night.
The big $$ are in the top 5, of course, which is my goal.

I have 45,000. blinds 1500/3000. In LP I get T-T.

UTG big stack ( 150,000 ) raises to 9,000. Folded to me.
UTG has not been out of line, seems pretty solid.

What do I do?

Depends on what his UTG raising standards have been. If He likes the big aces, but can lay them down if needed, Then I think Pushing may be appropiate, if theres a good cahcne he can lay it down. This also depends on what you think his Raise means. Its only 2 bb's, could mean he doesnt like his hand that much, but hopes it willget folded around due to the structure at this point, or hes got the goods. Most players will make a slightly bigger raise when they have a good hand, but need a little protection. This being the case, I'd call, and play him from the flop on

Folding is a good option if hes a very tight player, and you think your TT is toast.

But given you have position and the bet is small, Calling would be my play.

I was on the other table and a stack that large was good for Top 5 at the time. I'm not sure if he played differently prior to the final table but I recall that stack being fairly aggressive and making quite a few raises. But when he was called or called an all-in he was showing down decent hands so I don't think he was on a steal here.

he is giving you about 1.5-1 odds, you have position but on teh other hand he is solid and is not likely to raise with any hand that you are a strong favorite to, such as a lower pair. so unless you think he will raise loosely here (unlikely given how you describe him) then it is a fold unless you think he will lay down AQ or AJ or something like that. this is a tough call.

As far as going all in is concerned i think this is a good place for a stop and go rather than an all in since he will call with AQ or AK preflop but if he misses the flop then you will take it down. if he flops a pair you are still no worse off than if you moved in preflop anyway.

I like a call here, with the intent to bet hard if undercards come on the flop. If overs rear their ugly faces, then proceed with extreme caution, 15 MPH speed limit.

Raising is problematical pre-flop: what do you do if he pops it back? I believe the call is the best method to obtain some chance at winning a big pot without risking a ton of chips.

I have a hard time with the advocates of folding here. TT is not AA, true, but 7-handed it stands a great chance of being the best starting hand, and, like Dude, what are you waiting for?

I'd push all-in pre-flop 100 times before I'd fold TT to a 3xBB even once.

Doug
