Moving to California
This hardly qualifies as news, but I didn't know where else to put it. I live in Boston now but will be moving to Santa Barbara early 2003, and I'd like to start getting some ideas on where to play around there. I play mostly holdem and Omaha 8, low limit. I welcome anything anyone can tell me about poker in California, or poker or California in general. Thanks. Patrick |

Re: Moving to California
You are moving to The Promised Land for poker. Santa Barbara is quite a ways from any Los Angeles clubs, but you can't go wrong playing at any of the LA card clubs. Great action and LOTS of selection. DN |

Re: Moving to California
Well, you're going to have to make the occasional trip to Los Angeles but there are a couple of things closer. There's an Indian Casino in Santa Ynez, about 35 minutes NE of Santa Barbara and a tiny cardroom, the Player's Club in Ventura (1/2 hr to the south). Both have low-limit Omaha. But come say 'hi' at Table 21. We play $6-12 Omaha with a full-kill (there's also $1-2 and $3-6 at the Bike)Hope this helps. |
