Default Moving to California

This hardly qualifies as news, but I didn't know where else to put it. I live in Boston now but will be moving to Santa Barbara early 2003, and I'd like to start getting some ideas on where to play around there. I play mostly holdem and Omaha 8, low limit. I welcome anything anyone can tell me about poker in California, or poker or California in general. Thanks.

You are moving to The Promised Land for poker. Santa Barbara is quite a ways from any Los Angeles clubs, but you can't go wrong playing at any of the LA card clubs. Great action and LOTS of selection.

Well, you're going to have to make the occasional trip to Los Angeles but there are a couple of things closer.

There's an Indian Casino in Santa Ynez, about 35 minutes NE of Santa Barbara and a tiny cardroom, the Player's Club in Ventura (1/2 hr to the south). Both have low-limit Omaha.

But come say 'hi' at Table 21. We play $6-12 Omaha with a full-kill (there's also $1-2 and $3-6 at the Bike)Hope this helps.
