Flopped Straight vs SLAP, first HH post
Hello all,
This is my first hand history post. I felt like this was a way ahead or way behind situation while I was playing and would like to get some feedback from posters. What do you think of the betting sequence? How was the flop bet, play? Other streets? Villian was a SLAP, 33% VPIR after 75 hands, no real read other than that. It was a pretty livley table with avg pot over $21. I appreciate any guidance or feedback you all can offer. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (10 handed) converter Hero ($40.45) UTG ($37.1) UTG+1 ($11.45) UTG+2 ($13.5) MP1 ($33.3) MP2 ($19.5) MP3 ($24.4) CO ($25) Button ($34.05) SB ($39.25) Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Re: Flopped Straight vs SLAP, first HH post
Looks standard. Except I've picked up the habit of overbetting non-raised pots on the flop. I'm not sure if it's particularly good though.

Re: Flopped Straight vs SLAP, first HH post
Yeah, good play. You can't be sure you're ahead by the turn, but I think button would make the same play with a set as he would with a better straight.
You should raise more on the flop not only to protect your hand against Q9 and AQ, but also just to get more money in there. As it is, AQ is correct in calling if he knows he can get it all in on the turn if he gets a king. |
