Default Kudos to Steve, ( a tipping thread)

Dateline Caesar's In;

Steve, (not a 2+2'r To my knowledge) does well in a tourney and returns the next day. Every pot He wins for the next four hours, He takes out $1 and pushes the rest to the dealer.(Caesar's IN tips are pooled).

I like his style.

That is class. I'm a big fan of tipping the dealer whenever she (or he I guess but it works better with hotties or sweet old ladies [Aiyaaaah]) gets stiffed by some grumpy fat rock.

But this is a new one. I know a guy that tips whenever he loses a huge pot if he feels that the winner didn't give enough. That's gambling, folks.

NH, Steve (Dannenman?)...

IMHO, its a nice gesture but pretty silly. If you are going to tip the dealers well for winning a tournament, by all means do so -- 10%, 20%, 50% -- whatever. Giving them every pot I win for four hours (unless playing for truly trivial stakes) seems silly and might make me get up if I was one of the other folks at the table.

well, that would depend upon how much you won at the tourney and what stakes you were pushing pots. He plays tight so we might not be talking about that many pots.

Excuse me, TMTTR. Did you actually take this thread serious? Oh, wait a minute. Did I screw up and see the humor in it?

Also, most people lack his sense of style. You would have to meet him and also realize that He plays there 5-6 days a week and taking good care of the dealers is +EV.

This is an accurate account of actual events as described to me by a dealer. I know Steve and He is just the kind of man that would do that after a big win in a tourney. Steve has more style in his pinky finger than most of have in our entire being.

This makes a little more sense (although I am not sure it has a whole lot to do with a "sense of style"). I could never justify giving the dealers my pots for four hours primarily because four hours is a substantial percentage (between 25% and 100%) of my weekly playing time.

And I agree that taking care of the dealers is usually +EV -- I still would never do it this way. I guess I have no style.
