Re: Why almost nobody plays at Paradise here
There's nothing "wrong" with Paradise. It's all about preference. Right now, I spend about 25% of my play there. Paradise was my first site and I have always liked playing there.
I suspect that there are three reasons why more people do not play there: 1. You can only play 3 tables at once. 2. They do not offer frequent reload bonuses like other sites do (Party & Skins, etc.) 3. The play has been historically tighter in general relative to many other sites. In regards to #3, I have noticed that the games have loosened up in the past few months. Especially at night. Paradise was purchased, I believe, by sportsbook.com and it seems that some of the gamblers have come over to Paradise to play some poker. |

I'm not sure about GT, and I dont use PV. My main complaints are the slowness/lags and lack of bonuses/RB. |

Re: Why almost nobody plays at Paradise here
[ QUOTE ]
I tried out Paradise for a little while but I'm not a big fan of the site. I actually prefer Party's software. I only play limit so I have no need for sliders. And it might just be the time of day I like to play but I can find better tables on Party. Paradise was a rock garden when I wanted to play at night. I know it's a small sample I have but I like to stick with what works. [/ QUOTE ] The tables are reasonably loose at night. Pros: Reasonably fishy tables Good support Crazy Pineapple (wish they had tourneys) Cons: Processor hog software Garish color scheme Hand History functionality is crude these days. Play there a decent bit, mostly to get my CP fix. Great game. |

Re: Why almost nobody plays at Paradise here
I play on Paradise and have no complaints about the games at any time of day. The software, however, is another matter.
It's terribly slow. Sometimes I want it quite obvious that I have fired out a bet, only to click and then wait, and wait, and wait for it to appear on the table. Playing even two tables is very, very slow. Frequently when I'm not in a hand I look up when I hear the cards dealing for the next hand and discover that I have been "timed out," missed the hand, and have to click back in. At least once a day I call a raise, prepare to fold to the 3-bet and Paradise politely calls it for me before I can click fold. In NL I sometimes type in the amount of a bet and get a message telling me to enter an amount in the range of 10 to whatever number I just typed in. I have to go to the slider to get it to take the very same number. I guess the disconnects are no worse than Party, but I've had pocket aces and the nut straight folded for me this week. |

Re: Why almost nobody plays at Paradise here
The software is slow and more annoying to look at, there aren't as many games, the customer service makes Party look GOOD by comparison... etc.

Re: Why almost nobody plays at Paradise here
Within the last few months, Paradise 3/6 and 5/10 has gotten a little softer than Party. I only play Paradise when they have a bonus because:
1. You have to manually order hand histories from the lobby, 100 hands at a time. It's really a pain in the ass. 2. No rakeback. 3. The software is a tad slow. 4. The tables don't pop up when it's your turn to act, so you don't want to have a browser open over the tables or else you might time out and not know it. 5. There's a glitch in the list of tables in the lobby. Sometimes tables disappear. For example, it will list only 3 different 3/6 limit holdem games when in fact there are 4 running. 6. Tournaments get delayed very frequently for "maintenence" or whatever they call it. 7. No datamining. |

Re: Why almost nobody plays at Paradise here
only place where their "guart. tourn" are delayed so they don't have to shell out the overlay or where they take rake on rebuys and addons (though I think other sites maybe doing this now, but paradise did it without telling people in the beginning). Other shady practices
