Default The Constant Better

How do you deal with someone who plays every hand and tends to win on the river due to luck? I find myself pre-flop raising with good hands and getting called with rags. I raise again on the flop. I get called again with his rags. Then, he'll catch some on the turn or river. Should I just bet extremely exessive amounts to get him off fast?

if he really is calling with nothing and catching, you want him to call.

I would have better luck than them. That's the only way.

1. Do not try to bluff a calling station. You can't do it. If they have a piece, they'll call.
2. Hand selection is important. If the person is the type that will bet or raise if they have a piece, then you have a good idea where you stand. If that is the type of opponent you're dealing with, I would not bet the flop, just check it and bet the turn. You save yourself money, and, if they're drawing, they're more likely to fold with only one card to come as opposed to two to come. If you play your hands the right way, in the long run you should make money off of these guys. They will get lucky and outdraw you at times, but in the long run they'll call off more than they win. You just want to be the one they're calling off to.

Your best bet is to start calling with nothing then getting lucky on the river.
