I\'m starting to play live MTT\'s need advice
I love playing live MTT's. The problem is they cost at least 200 bucks which makes it very pricey to learn as I go.
My regular game is online SnGs which I've done decently at. I've also played a lot of online MTTs but with a 20 buck buy in and 800 players I'm guessing there isnt much of a corellation between online and live (the ones i've played in don't have more than 80 players.) My question is this: Can anyone point me to a thread here that explains the basic ideas/formulas of live MTTs? Are there general rules/concepts for playing the different stages of MTTs? Thanks in advance |

Re: I\'m starting to play live MTT\'s need advice
don't know about any threads here, but tournament poker for advanced players is a good book, also 52 tips for winning tournament poker. There are strategies for all levels, but the best advice is experience. If you've never been late in a tournament with huge blinds, it's overwhelming the first few times....then it becomes an awesome adrenaline rush that ur constantly chasing. No better feeling than at a final table playing for a nice 1st place with monster blinds. No book or thread will replace that feeling, or give you the strategy. You gotta be in it on your own to get your best strategy. Good luck

Try this thread. Are live $100 MTTs generally easier than online $100 MTTs?
