Default Why not bet the \"Don\'t Pass\" line after a point is established?

I understand that it would be "going against the table", but isn't it a long term winner to bet the "Don't Pass" line once a point is made? Especially if the point is a 4, 5, 9, or 10 where the edge on rolling a 7 is quite large?
