I actually don't eat veal for similar reasons. I know that it isn't logically or ethically consistant with my other eating habits, but whatever.

I haven't ever been faced with Fois Gras, but I imagine I wouldn't eat it as well.

Dibs. Someday I will treat you to some veal and foie gras. They are so good you will rationalize reasons to eat them.

California passed a law last year to ban Foie Gras, but there are all sorts of loop holes (definition of humane) and there's like an 8-year grace period.

California Passes Legislation Banning Foie Gras

So hopefully similar results in Chicago, cause, Foie Gras, man, that's some tasty s***.

I think it's unlikely the city council will approve this. Chicago politics are not PETA-friendly.

Even if it does, lots of the best fine dining in the area is in the 'burbs, so much of the really good fois gras spots won't be affected.

OTOH, Kendall College is located in the city limits now, so I don't know what the hell they'll do if it actually passes.

FWIW, They've tested ducks up and down to see if the feeding causes extra stress, and it doesn't. Because they're ducks.

I have never really thought about this before, but look at the second video on this page and come to your own conclusions:

I'm not a big foie gras fan, but this seems to be lunacy.

It does, in fact, cause additional stress and injury. I will PM you information when I have a chance.

Which is why we should ban same-sex sexual acts, marriages, pornography, and so on. Right?
