Default Appropriatly enough....

I was browsing through the "older archives" and came accross the very first post in the Internet Forum when it was created in January of 2000.

# Internet Poker Cheating

Oooo, new forum, let me be the first. ;-)

I'm concerned that as internet poker becomes more popular, the "casinos" will be tempted to cheat. They could do this by having robot players at a table and fix it so that these robots win more than their share of hands. How's one to know if a player really exists? One or two robot players at a table could make quite a bundle for the casino over time, and cost us players a lot. It's probably not hard to right the software to do it.

I do think someone will try something like this eventually. Anywhere where there's money to be made is sure to attract the worst element. And with these casinos off-shore, we would have no redress even if we could prove it, which would be impossible to do if done right.

So what does everyone else think about this?

That was interesting to read...

Amazing how even 5 years ago people were complaining of the same things they are now...

Only saw a few familiar names....
Raymer, Lepore...

5 years ago....I had only seen Texas Holdem on the Telly (Late Night Poker) over here in the Uk , but had never played it...

And I haven't seen any of that personally in the past five years (wow time flies). But I've heard the bad players make all kinds of claims. And there were a couple of incidents I believe true a few years ago.

One thing that happened was that the card rooms are making so much money that it's in their best interest to keep thing on the up and up. And the WPT helped make that happen.

Who knew?

And I wasn't complaining, just posting some thoughts. I hope you guys don't blame me for what followed.

You don't have any old photographs of me in compromising positions, do you?

Wasn't there a site that was using bots and it was pretty much common knowledge a few years back?

I bet that these were very legitimate concerns back then though.
