Default In the midst of a downswing, a couple troubling hands...

As running bad tends to induce, I've been thinking about some recent hands trying to locate some mis-steps. Remeber the hands clearly, but at work so no HH/converter, I'll do my best, both are Party $100NL, 6-max...

Hand 1:

Villian in CO (~$100) semi-lag, about 30/15, no real read
Hero covers

Preflop: Hero is BB with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Folded to Villian, Villian raises to $3, Hero raises to $11, Villian calls $8

Flop: ($22) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero bets $21, Villian calls $21

Turn: ($64) Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Hero...

With a pot bet behind putting him in is this an easy push? I don't really like the turn card nor do I really like Villian still in the pot. With 10, J, Q, on board I froze...

Hand 2:

Villian in MP (~$110) seems loose pf w/vpip ~40, but not many hands
Hero (~$110)

Preflop: Hero is button with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
MP limps, CO limps, Hero raises to $6, folds, Villian calls $5

Flop: ($14) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Villian checks, Hero bets $11, Villian raises to $22, Hero calls $11

Turn: ($58) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Villian checks, Hero checks

River ($58) 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Villian pushes ~$75, Hero...

This hand seems misplayed looking back. Typically I check behind on the flop w/paired boards like this, which I think may be a better line. His min-raise scared me but could be anything including f-draw, this could be debated. But is enough to warrant a call on the end? I think c flop, c/c turn may be a better line, but then I still seem to have little idea where I am in the hand, thoughts?

Min raises usually mean trouble, especially min check raises. Your AA is unimproved, i'd probably lay it down here. I usually lead for half the pot on the turn in the KK hand, but this may be a leak. Often, Ill put in the rest on a blank river, or one that completes my draw. Again potental leak for me.

hand 1 check turn call any size bet, if he moves in on turn, oops fold but it's close. Pushing turn you might as well flip your card over.

hand 2 bet smaller on flop, as played fold river. He likely miss a check raise on turn as well. I think majority of people would not push a Queen at this level. Your AA is as good as any pair here.

Do you typically bet smaller on these type of flops as feeler/semi-charging bets? I tend to bet the same almost-pot-sized on most flops (i.e. even if I had QQ), or check behind. But I'm interested if this is only situational play for you or do you typically always vary bet size? I think in this hand a smaller bet would've been better as suggested.

Well for paired board, it's less likely he hit the board but if hit 9, he hit hard. A min check raise from him usually don't always mean trips, sometimes he has AQ here. So I want keep pot smaller. Against some particular aggressive villian who cr flop and bet all the way with AQ, I call down from there, but bet smaller allow me to keep him honest from time to time without going broke. And alot of time he thinks I have AK and call with any Q or pp which is what I want.

I play in a way my bet size varies alot anywhere from overbet to min bet. I want to keep them guessing.
