If you make 50K a year and work for 40 yrs the easy math is 2 mil. I know you have to figure for that 50K raising somewhat over the years, but I would say that you could live comfortably on that 7.5 million (understatement of the decade). I guess you figure at worst you lose 50% to taxes (again for easy math) so you have 3.75 million. I think the interest alone at a measly 4% would support most of us (150K/yr.)
