Default My new $11 strategy

Ok
So after getting smacked around in these things playing QJs, KQ, A10, etc Ive decided not to play any hands until level 4 unless its AA-QQ or AK. Im gonna try 100 like this and see where it gets me. I will of course limp in on the big blind but the swings have been killing me lately when someone calls my jacks with A8 and busts me. '
Any takes for what my ITM and ROI will be at the end of this mini experiment?? or any other comments?

that's a strategy you probably should have applied already.

I would change it to levels 1-3.

In level 4 you really need to get some chips unless you've already won a bit pot.

With your strategy you'll be entering level 4 with 650-700 chips, not enough room to really fold JJ or TT.

But hey, I'd be interested in seeing your results with some hand histories.

Maybe make yourself a preflop chart and loosen up as you get to level 3 or 4?

Much higher than it was before.

When someone alot less lazy than me comes along, they will direct you to the 10+1 strategy guide.

This is just silly. I hope you enjoy being shortstacked every game.

Not playing ATo and AJo (especially OOP) is one thing. From my experience, not at least attempting to limp any PP on level 1 at a typical passive $11 Partypoker game is just giving money away. The implied odds are so enormous and the hands virtually play themselves.

Folding hands such as JJ and TT until level 4 is just plain stupid. If you're that afraid to play poker, why don't you just give up the game altogether?

I'm not trying to sound overly harsh, but your strategy is dumb.

I agree with 45suited that although this strategy is a good basic concept of staying out of trouble levels 1-4 it is a bit simplistic.

Pocket pairs are just too straightforward of a hand to to NOT play. Treat them like a small chance to perhaps dominate a hand if you get your set.

Other stuff,
If you understand the importance of position then you are being silly passing on decent hands in late position when it is folded to you. Not that that happens often but it would surely be a case to play a few more hands than you listed.
