Secrets of the Poker Notepad
So i'm not bad at taking notes, but i want to improve this very important facet of online poker. He's a few of the big ones i note. Btw i made a post a lil while back called "10 ways to spot a fish!" so i personally am going to stay away from those. I also play on Pacific at 25$ and 50$ NL 10handed cash games where PT isn't avilable. Please Post your own as you see fit. Thx
(general) 1. Almost always bets/checks draws 2. Plays many hands/Plays few hands 3. changes gears/always plays the same 4. Likes to gamble/Shy's from the gamble 5. Plays Postion well/Doesn't 6. Takes stabs (and what there usual stab bet % is)/checks to see what happens. 7. Loves the slow play/never slow plays 8. Changes style after winning or losing a big pot (how?)/ always plays the same 9. Easy tilters 10. Non-auto posters 11. Overbetters/underbetters 12. Hand selection style (i.e. anything suited, calls big raises with PP's OOP, Only raises with premo hands, ect.) 13. Time descrepences. (i.e. Always checks fast, but waits two seconds and then checks with big hands when the action comes fast to them) (good players) 1. Strength more pre-flop or post flop? 2. Good against other good players too? or just donk masters? 3. Whats the weakness to there style? whats the best counter style? 4. Do they respect me or not? How can i use this to my advantadge? 5. stare clear or try clever bluffs? 6. How good are they at putting me on hands? Ok Ok, so the "good player" is the rarity at Pacfic SSNL. And usually their's only a couple of us at a table at one time, so we usually stare clear and just feed on the fishy's. Though this is great for my bankroll, it has limited my "playing against good players" experience. So this espeically is what im interested in hearing responses to. If you don't mind, please label the stakes/type of game you usually take notes on. Because, for example, i would figure 25$10handed and 200$6max are a lil diffrent for note taking. *note* all of these notes i take are generally speaking, I know people Bet out hands and then slow play later, change gears, and play "possum" poker for image reasons. I'm not saying any of these are a "sure thing", there just general guidelines on infomation that have helped me in play. If you find something you don't like on my humble lil list, plz explain why, i am eager to learn. Thx everyone. |

Re: Secrets of the Poker Notepad
Yes, i have heard this before from a few poeple. Pacific is notorious for trying to keep there players as crappy as possiable.

Re: Secrets of the Poker Notepad
I've not been impressed with HandGrabber so far, but in fairness the author (it seems to be a one-man show) seems to be interested in providing good support. I would suggest filing detailed crash reports, even though I'm too lazy to always do the same.
