Default Party buys Multipoker - Intertops becomes affiliate

Party Poker is buying Multipoker. From Bloomberg:

"PartyGaming Agrees to Buy MultiPoker to Control `Skin' Partner
2005-11-11 03:26 (New York)

By Paul Jarvis
Nov. 11 (Bloomberg) -- PartyGaming Plc, the owner of the
PartyPoker Web site, agreed to buy MultiPoker for $14.5 million
to gain ownership of one of its four marketing partners.
Arrangements with two of the company's other so-called
``skin'' partners, IntertopsPoker.com and Coral Eurobet, are
ending, PartyGaming said today in a Regulatory News Service
statement. Coral is leaving the PartyGaming platform, while
IntertopsPoker will become an affiliate of PartyPoker, it said.
Gibraltar-based PartyGaming last week said it may buy Empire
Online Ltd., the fourth of the ``skins,'' after excluding all
four of its partners from its upgraded poker platform.

When is this effective? This might allow you-know-what for people who already have MP accounts with certain affiliates...

This is great news.

The chances of this are 1%. Party will end those old agreements like it did with PokerNow.

Party is applying the "Golden Rule of Business":

"He, who holds the gold, makes the rules".

this is getting really bad. we dont need party monopolizing the poker industry, we need for the smaller sites to merge together to create competition instead. im really glad that eurobet is merging with pokerroom and im really hoping that partys offer on empire falls through and they merge with a smaller site as well.

To be honest, I don't care what happens -- I'm just gonna hang tight until everything shakes out. I have RB at Empire, Euro, and Intertops, and in my mind it's worthless at this point. Of course, I'm still a 1/2 bonus whore. My tune might change if I ever get up to 3/6 or 5/10.
