Another good example of this is when faced with waiting for an elevator, particularly one where the call button doesn't light up. You can have a good eight people standing in front of the elevator, clearly waiting for it, yet the ninth one will come up and push the button.

this sounds like a good trick to do if you have nothing better to do. go wait by an elevator but don't push the button. other people will come and wait behind you and the elevator will never come because the button will never have been pushed. haha

1: There's almost always a light that lights up.
2: When there's not, multiple people push the button.
3: People often push the button repeatedly even if lit up.
4: If someone is standing at the elevator like he is waiting and no button is lit up, I don't think he is a good trickster, I just think he is a [censored].

Wow. dumba$$ got censored.

a fun little experiment most psychology classes do is put a sign on a park bench that says DRY PAINT. It's amusing to see how many people look at the sign aand then have to touch the bench to make sure it's dry.

You are implying that the normal thing to do if you see a bench with a "DRY PAINT" sign on it is to just sit down. I think the normal thing to do is to check the paint, since it's not normal at all for a bench with dry paint to have a "DRY PAINT" sign on it.
