Party/Empire Buddy list change

Last night I was able to send a message to a friend at another table to try and find him and watch him for a while. It worked!

Today I sat with someone who was trying to tell a "complainer" what they were doing wrong. I added her to my buddy list so I could send her a message to tell her to shut the hell up. This person was a fish and paying me off. It would not allow me to send the message.

Does this mean they changed it so you can't send messages to people at your own table? Anyone else try this? This is another good step towards stopping cheating. Either that or it just wasn't working for me today.

Could be that you have to work on your message. Try "Lend me 2 bucks and I promise to marry your sister, please?"

Seriously, I don't know. Maybe a longshot, but could it be that choosing to be excluded from the search feature also excludes you from buddy list messages?

I think reading the in table messages is a better way to stop cheating than preventing them.

I mean party can probably examine the transcripts of any in table messaging between players. Especially if someone reports 2 players and it is noted that they message one another often on the same table. It will now be easy for Party to ban the players, especially if they can read the content of the messages.
