[ QUOTE ]
brad garrett (seriously)

btw, i walked in same time as him and he is not as gigantic as i thought. i had thought he was freakishly tall. he's barely taller than hellmuth

[/ QUOTE ]

Isn't Hellmuth 6'6"? If so, 6'6" is quite tall.

This ought to result in generations of new players.

I love the unbearably bored look on the guys next to him. YOUR PLAYING THE MAIN EVENT NEXT TO ELMO LOOK AWAKE!!!!

Havent read other responses, so sorry if i repeat.

The correct answer is a woman. Any woman. Preferably nice looking and articulate in front of the cameras. Being a housewife and mother helps too.

If they don't change the rules regarding Elmo, whats to stop the final table from being a whole bunch of masked characters? We could have showdowns between Kermit, Pluto, and Mickey Mouse before its all over. That will broaden the appeal of poker further from college kids to children. Very high EV for us.

either a celebrity who isn't noted as a poker player (i.e. not ben affleck or spiderman, but someone like, i don't know, topher grace) or doyle brunson.

if doyle wins it's the biggest poker story of the last 5 years and that inherently brings in more fish, b/c more people will watch and they get to see gus hansen go all-in w/ 8Ts during the broadcast and that's +EV for me.

Since Barry Greenstein donates his tournament winnings to assorted good causes, if he had won it would have definitely been +EV for the world.

Everyone seems to think a woman would be a good candidate. As a woman, I think that would be moderately -EV for me, personally. (I get underestimated a lot at the poker table.)

And I think, by and large, women play tighter than men, so I'm not 100% convinced that the money brought in would be nice and loose.

But if one wants to bring women in (which would be a nice vast assortment of novice players) I vote for a soccer mom. Whoever said Shannon Elizabeth wouldn't bring in the women was dead on. She would just increase the number of <21 year old males trying to crash the ME next year.

Personally, I vote for a Gus Hansen variety. (No disrespect to Gus.) The thought of a bunch of poor players trying to bluff into me with 47o all next year gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
