Default Re: I\'m considering being a Poker dealer and need advice to get started

[ QUOTE ]
why the hell would any halfway decent poker player want to be a dealer? The only thing I can possibly think of is that it would be some steady income, but for a properly bankrolled player, this wouldn't be much of an issue.

There's talk of a new casino being built in SW Michigan. If they offer poker, I'm seriously considering applying for a part-time dealing gig. I consider myself a "half-way decent" poker player. My reasons (most of which you hit on):
- Seriously underrolled to play big enough to earn what I would make dealing.
- Even more seriously underroled to play big enough to earn enough to take the risk of playing over the non-risk of dealing.
- Enjoyment of being involved in the game without having to take any risk.

On the other hand, by this board's standards, I'm probably not "half-way decent".
