Default Long Island Poker Clubs

I've found only one publicized cardroom (www.fishstreetpoker.com) in Hicksville and I am a little weary about just showing up and knocking on the door.

I am very torn between getting "any" action, meaning playing with friends and family who I can't chase out and "logical" action with players who know how to fold pre flop when they have 72o. Quite frankly, I am not getting any better playing with the latter. I am at the point now where I only want to play with organized players.

This might either get me some hits or ban me for life..but I have to ask. Can someone point me in the right direction for getting some decent action? I am not in the position to go to Foxwoods or AC on a weekly basis, but I am serious about playing.

Please excuse the question if it's out of line. Sources have told me some forums keep their poker club lists under lock and key. I apologize if this is the case and I should be asking under PM.

well gee, let's see, I'd be a little wearier (sp?) about going after seeing the name of the club displayed on a public forum.

you are correct though, generally, people won't discuss locations of clubs after the recent raids and what not, but ya never know, someone might PM you with info.

Yeah, I think I am going with my gut and staying away.

I guess it's off to AC...

Yeah, those players who dont fold 72o preflop are impossible to beat.

Poker clubs on LI have not been busted as much as NYC. One recently closed due to problems with Fire Marshall inspections, however all the players got to keep their money the day they got shut down. If you go to the place you named I'm sure you'll find good games, and hear about other games that may be less advertised.
