Default fun with maps, my turn

This is the most interesting place I've come across playing around with Google Earth. I know where it is, but I don't know what it is, so I'm genuinely curious whether anyone is familiar with it. Only hint I'll give is that it's not in the U.S.

for some reason that reminds me of a club med i saw in a picture. nothing that boring is it? (no offense to club med folks)

I can't say for sure, but given the country, I kind of doubt it.
