Red Sox in 7?

I'm a Sox fan. When we found ourselves down 3-0 in the ALCS, I found myself commenting to everyone that would listen, "hey, wouldn't it be nice to place a $50 bet on the Sox right now?"

Unfortunately for me, I didn't get around to it. I'm not 21, and I don't live anywhere near Vegas. Turning Stone doesn't have a sportsbook.

My questions:

1) How much would I have made if I put $50 on the Sox in 7 for the ALCS... at the time of the 3-0 deficit? What about for the World Series? (Sox in 4, or Sox to win the series in general... placed at the 3-0 point of the ALCS?)

... in other words, what were the lines in Vegas? online?

2) How many of you placed this bet?

I'm just curious how much I would have made... though as a Boston fan, I'm happy with the trophy! (We have a lot of catching up to do.)

I think it was about 35-1 so you would have made $7000.

What's funny about this response is that someone told me that it was 140 to 1... which would actually be $7k.

(35-to-1.. more like $1750, but still a great deal more than the $50 I had and didn't bet with.)

Actually after Game 3 the Sox were 16-1 to win the ALCS and 40-1 to win the WS. In you're under 21 I might recommend opening an internet account with any number of off shore books. Of course that would be illegal. However, some of the sites that are trustworthy are pinnaclesports.com, thegreek.com and sportsinteraction.com.
