Default Quick AKs question!!

AKs in LP or CO, 5-7 limpers, I still raise but I want to make sure this is correct with so many Limpers. Please explain!! This came from a table I was sitting at and a hand that I saw 6 limpers and a CO raise with this hand, FYI I loved this .5/1 table won a 29BB pot on it!!!!

it is correct to raise. You have equity edge after so many limpers with this hand (AKs)

You raise because you expect to win more than your share of pots with AKs. Getting the limpers to put in extra bets increases the amount of dead money in the pot.

Yes, you raise. For all intents and purposes AK is a upper-middle pp preflop, and you can play it as such.

AK is a preflop favorite over most hands; you're in trouble against AA, obviously, but you're only about 2-1 underdog to KK, and you're around even money with any other pocket pair. Get your money in there, along with everybody else's.

FWIW, I'd raise 9Ts after this many limpers too.

T9s?? I'm guessing this reason is that this hand plays well in a multi way pot, raise here to have the pot odds to call to your outs???

Limpers want to see a cheap flop and take advantage of the implied odds of being able to bet when they hit their hand or fold cheaply if they do not.

You have a strong hand, that when it improves does so in a visible way that shrinks the people willing to pay it off. Not extracting value now while you have an equity edge is generally a mistake that cannot be corrected later.

Your guess is correct.

>>> ...raise here to have the pot odds to call to your outs???

No. AFAIK, one oughtn't pad a pot to make calling on later streets with a weaker draw correct.

BTW, I'd Raise 98s and maybe 87s on the button after 5-7 limps now and then just to Keep Them Guessing and Freak Them Out!
