Default 1/2 Live AA hand... I really donked this up.

I'm sitting with 450 on a 200 max 1/2 table at Winstar in Oklahoma... Only one person on the table has me covered, and he is the hyper aggresive type... I look down and find AA and raise it to 20 in MP. There were about 2-3 limpers before me and a total of 3 others called the 20 to see the flop. The flop came QK4 and small blind bets 10, I raise to 35, and he makes it 60... Here I'm thinking he has KQ or possible just AK/KJ as I said he was very aggresive.

Turn comes a 4 and he grabs 100 and bets it into a pot of only about 140... At this point I'm very confused, but I think for a minute and realize that he does not have QQ or KK for sure, and still I put him on KQ and I know that the 4 counterfeits any two pair he has except one with a 4. I then move in for my remaing 200+. He calls instantly and turns over Q4 and I'm done...

Did I play this hand TERRIBLY, and if so how could I possibly have gotten off of it that easily.

I know it seems weird, but did you think your raise to 20 would get 3 callers? I know in AC, at 1/2 there are tables were 20 won't push out too many people. In those circumstances, I might raise to 30 with aces because I'm really hoping for 1 caller, not a multiway pot.

First of all, there's like 80 in the pot, he bets 10, I'd raise it to about 90 or 100. This helps define his hand a bit more. But as played, the small bet and then miniraise usually spells a lot of trouble. I'd consider even folding on the flop. Once he shows no fear and bets the turn, I'd definitely fold.

I played that game one time while I was waiting for a $2/$5 table to open up. I raised two limpers to $20 (with KQ) and they both called. I agree with Adam that you can raise to $30 with AA and still get called. Its sounds moronic to raise 15BBs , but if still gets a call, its probably correct.

The reason that most ppl call 10x BB in those games is that they do not think pot size or BB when making decisions. Rather, they are thinking the amount of money that is being bet. Calling 20 dollars to see a flop is reasonable for most that are at the casino to have a good time (afterall, you can sit at the 15 minimum bj table right ;-). This also plays into how much to bet post flop against some of these donkeys...
