Default Stars $3+0 - AKs flopping TPTK. Gimme a line.

I'm posting this for a friend:
--------------

i've been playing 50nl and 100nl for a few weeks now (despite not really being br'ed for it), doing moderately well but the swings suck.

have been playing the $1+0 stars mtt off and on for fun, and once in a while $2+0 and $3+0, without too much sucess. I've moneyed a few times, best result was 24th out of around 1200 or so, so nothing too major.

so like a week ago i decided i really wanted to tackle them, so i played all 4 small mtt's one night. i made the first hour break in all 4, but the second hour break in just one. finished that one 113th where top 100 or 99 moneyed, which was alright.

had a conversation with my friend, who is a better player than me, and i told him that although I had a strict gameplan for the first hour, my second hour strategy was confused. I vaguely know that i'm supposed to pick up chips in the second hour, with the bigger blinds blind stealing becomes somewhat profitable, have to make plays because of the bigger blinds, etc. But I was confused and this often led to ill-timed bluffs and all-ins that almost never let me get to the end of hour 2.

but after some advice from him, the whole thing just clicked for me. in the 3 i've played since then i've built up a big stack in the second hour, without going all-in at all. anyway, in last night's 3+0 i started hour 2 with 2930, and by the break i have 19,600, almost hitting my goal of 20k. It was a little over an hour later, around 10 minutes into hour 4 when this hand popped up.

so the blinds are 1000/2000 ante 100, around 79 left, i'm around 45th out of 79. I just got moved to this table one hand before, so no real information on any of these guys.

Reraise preflop. Make it 18k or 20k to go. Push the flop.

Push preflop. If you dont reraise preflop, then push the flop. Stacks too small to get tricky here with a smooth call preflop, and the min bet on the flop.

I wouldve just pushed over the RR preflop.

Saying that, on the flop I want to get the most money in. This is where I disagree pushing the flop. Instead, bet an amount that isnt enough to technically call, but he will still call anyway, then put the rest in on the turn on any card. Most players are very shortsighted and will call the flop immediately (at incorrect odds) then reason that they are committed on the turn [calling the turn with anything they would call the flop with, not understanding that essentially they called an all in on the flop.]

Because they still call pushes on the flop with stuff that beats you (KQ 88 KK QQ etc), you want to get the money from stuff that _doesnt_ beat you. I think this line works great.
