Default BB short stack bubble

BB had been very aggressive since knocking out the 5th player and becoming big stack. i would have been pretty floored if he folded his SB here, so i think it's reasonable to consider him as having random cards.

i know that you're supposed to play conservative for 4th, but is folding this going too far? i'm still pretty new to sng's

one worry i had was that if i folded, the bigger stacks would keep stealing from the shorties and we'd get blinded down to the point where we had no chance for anything but 3rd.

if you call here, what's the worst Kx you call with? if you fold, what's the worst Kx/Ax you call with?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (4 handed) converter

Hero (t990)
UTG (t785)
Button (t2005)
SB (t4220)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

I call this in a heartbeat. SB is pushing a wide range here and UTG isn't short enough that him doubling up basically screws you.

*Edit* I'd call K9 and up here.

"BB had been very aggressive "
youre the BB here !!

so you think he's pushes random hands, then why fold ?
its short handed, chances of him holding an ace or something better than what you have is slim

oops... hehe. SB is aggro. FWIW, i'm 60.6% against a random hand, somewhat worse if he folds 23o and somewhat better if he completes AA/KK.

I think whether you call this depends pretty strongly on your guesses about how next hand will go. If you think it's likely that it will be folded to your SB and that UTG will fold his BB to your push, then I think you can fold this here with no worries. If big stack has been aggressive enough that this seems like a poor gamble, then you can presumably call here and be okay.

my guess at the time was that the aggro big stack would push his button. that was my fear, at least - that he'd keep running over the table (correctly).

Yup, if SB knows what he's doing, I instacall here for the reason Kyro gives.
