Spanish is funny (O/T - A New Year\'s Story)
I don't speak any spanish. But my girlfriend is latina and her parents speak virtually no english.
In my efforts to wish them a 'happy new year' I proved to be the cause of great amusement: You see...there is a BIG difference between 'Feliz Anos Nuevo' and 'Feliz AN-YOS nuevo'. I don't know how to do the enya thing on the screen....one is pronounced AHN-OHS and the other, with the enya, is AHN-YOSE. Evidently, I enthusiastically wished upon my GF's parents a "Happy New Anus". |

Re: Spanish is funny (O/T - A New Year\'s Story)
So, what does that waify Caribbean Blue singer have to do with this? Seriously though, ñ Ñ are alt characters. On almost any text entry point, hit alt, and hold, then type a number from the numberpad...and release alt. It will replace with an alt character. There's plenty of charts out there if your are really interested in finding the alt characters, but the ones you are looking for in this case are <ALT>164 (ñ) and <ALT>165 (Ñ). And A Glorious New Anus to you as well!

Well done. My most notable Spanish gaffe was discussing the Hemingway classic "For Whom The Doorbell Rings."

Good book....but when it comes to Hemingway I preferred
"A Star that Goes Up Too" I wasn't as big a fan of "Ancient Homosapien in Lots of Water" Happy New Anus Everyone!! |
