It's all about his Shania, no? Using plays that are, in isolation, unprofitable, but that ultimately make his overall play highly profitable.

Hi Angelina,
DERB has attained an almost mythical reputation here at twoplustwo. We have been trying to get to the bottom of this mistery for many months. I have even changed my screen name to DERB at Party. And I created a sweatshirt that I wear when I go to vegas.

('sup bro? on back)

For goodness sake, who is DERB?
thanks, Brick

Hi Everyone:

From HPFAP page 1:

[ QUOTE ]
The "winning approach" we provide is a tight but aggressive one. It is not a "fast" approach, which some experts use to win slightly more money.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is followed by a footnote which says:

[ QUOTE ]
Some experts deliberately play a few extra hands, and then use their superior playing skills to catch up. They still lose money on these additional hands, but these hands allow them to make a little more on their legitimate hands due to the additional deception that they create.

[/ QUOTE ]

Best wishes,
Mason

lol, is this a joke mason? have you read any of the DERB threads at all?

I think what would put everyone at ease is if you could define, "a few extra".

This guy seems to be COLD-CALLING raises in SHORT_HANDED pots with hands like A4s, 86s, etc. Does this fall into the catagory of the FEW extra you're talking about?

i just got DERB to c/r me on the turn when i had a set of aces by pausing for like 5 seconds before i bet

he c/r'd, called a 3-bet, and folded on the river, maybe he would have done it anyway, i dont know what he had, there were a couple of draws on the board tho

anyway, hes on a couple of my tables and i havent seen him do anything absolutely rediculous yet other than playing too many hands

I dont think the time delay had anything to do with it.

ah the old "long pause, bet" with the nuts trick. An expert online poker play. No one can resist the LPB trick, not even the mighty derb.
