77 overpair vs BigBlind + limper (0.25 NL)
(0.25 BB on Absolute)
I've noticed that BB has min raised trips earlier but I have no further read. stacks : UTG : 10, BB : 17.5, ME : 25. Preflop : UTG calls, EP2 folds, I call, folded to the BB who checks. Flop : 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG+BB check, I bet 1$, BB raises to 2$, UTG calls, what should I do ? Thank you for your help ! |

Re: 77 overpair vs BigBlind + limper (0.25 NL)
I probably fold.
BB check-raised a pot-sized bet. There are a lot of ways to be behind him here (bigger overpair, 2 pair, set, straight). It's hard to think of hand you beat, that makes sense for him to play like this. |

I agree that you are probably beaten at this point. But I believe that I would call $1 into this $5.75 pot since I am last to act & see what happens on the turn.

[ QUOTE ]
I agree that you are probably beaten at this point. But I believe that I would call $1 into this $5.75 pot since I am last to act & see what happens on the turn. [/ QUOTE ] We have 6 outs (4 fours + 2 sevens). The 7 may not be good since it may give UTG a straight - he seems to be drawing. Do you have the 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]? Same thing applies to 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] So maybe 5 good outs? That gives 8:1 - worse than the pot odds. Either a 7 or a 4 on the turn is going to kill the action. So its hard to see you can make a lot more if you do improve. If you don't improve, I have a hard time imagining BB will let you take another cheap draw It's close but I'd still fold. |
