Low Pocket pairs UTG
I've been playing 3/6 for a while now, and my raising standards for pocket pairs are 8's and up from UTG, I raise with sevens from Late MP and HJ, and all other pairs strictly from HJ CO B. Is there any reason I should start raising with these lower pairs from around front or is this kind of a table dependent question

Re: Low Pocket pairs UTG
77 UTG is usually a raise for me, 66 rarely. Fold the rest.

Re: Low Pocket pairs UTG
This is a table dependent question.
After consistently losing with small pocket pairs for the better part of a year, I've stopped playing them from EP on most full tables. The early results are encouraging. 88 is still a borderline hand for me, though--I hate to fold it in an unraised pot (I hate to fold in a raised pot, truth be told), so I'll still openraise with it from time to time, depending on my table image & how loose the table is in general. |

Re: Low Pocket pairs UTG
I'll open raise 77 in EP, 66 in MP and lower in LP depending on the table.

Re: Low Pocket pairs UTG
i usually limp 66,77,88 and raise 99 UTG, fold the rest, but i dont know why
SSH actually says to generally limp 99, but i know a lot of people here raise 88 and 77, id be interesed in some reasoning behind it |
