Default Push all in?

Situation:

Late in a satellite to a WPT main event
65 players left; the top 34 get seats to the main event
Blinds: 800-1600 with a 200 ante
Your stack: 10000
Your position: Under the gun, first to act
Your cards: K9 suited

Do you push all in now or risk having the blinds go through you and then being anted down waiting for a better opportunity?

I think you still have enough chips left to wait till you hopefully an ace at least in better position. You've got 9 players in front of you and you get 10 more hands for 15% of your stack. Unless of course your opponents will put you on Kings or Aces b/c of first pos. but they all have to be paying attention. Online, I wouldn't risk it.

I'll read the other posts, but I can't imagine anyone advocating a pf push here. UTG with 8 bb in front of you? Your goal is to get 34th, not 1st.

What place in the tourney are you at this point? How many chips will the average winner have when the tourney end? Where are you in relation to that amount? How tight is the action at your table? You need to answer all of these questions before we can really make an informed decision. With what we've got to work with here, I think you can prob find a much better spot than this. I'd rather try and steal form LP w/ suited gappers than utg w/ this.

As much as we say there is no value to survival in mtts; sattelites are an exception to the rule. You only need 1 chip left to win the seat. Hope it worked out for you.

You are a favorite against precisely 0% of hands that call you here...I'd fold it, there are plenty of hands better than k9 and plenty of positions better than UTG...

Not only that, but if you do get called, you are never better than 2.5-1 dog b/c of the situation. You're getting called by TT-AA and AK period, maybe AQ if it's a big stack.

This question is a lot more interesting if the hand is KQo.

I still couldn't see pushing w/ KQo UTG here -- we're not that desperate and can find a better spot IMO.
