Default 4 door trucks

Assuming things continue to go well with poker I would like to save up and get a new car. I drink Mountain Dew so obviously I need to have either an SUV or Truck with 4x4 capability.

I've really started looking at the 4 door mid size trucks. What do you guys think about them. I think the short beds bother me

Do you off-road, or will the 4WD be primarily for snow?

Primarily for going over curbs and flashing 4-4 with my fingers while driving. However I also need the ability to talk about tearing it up both off road and in the snow.

Cool, I've flashed the finger-4 a few times I'm sure...

The reason I ask is that mid/full size trucks tend to not be as great off-road as you would think. This is why Jeeps are so popular. They are plenty capible in the climbing department, while being 'skinny' enough to get through tight spots. They are off-road monsters.

That being said...I hate Jeeps and personally need to have 4-doors and the ability to lock up large valuables, so I went the PathFinder route.

On the truck side, if your intention is not really to haul things, smaller trucks do much better in both the off-road department as well as the snow.

Also, if you are the modifications type (not just big wheels, but suspension modifications, you really want to go Toyota. They are unfortunately (I like Nissans) so damn popular, that there are many many more after-market options for them and they are much easier to find someone compitent at working on them.
