Default Question about athletics

Yeah this is probably the worst forum in the world to ask such a question but I don't frequent any others. Here is my question.

Being able to bench 150% of your body weight ~=
running a mile in x minutes

What is x?

P.S. I don't mean, if you can bench 150% of your weight, how fast can you run the mile. I want to know the equivalent accomplishment / milestone / whatever when it comes to running. Thanks.

if you weigh 300 lbs, x = 7

if you weigh 200 lbs, x = 6.5

if you weigh 170 lbs, x = 6

i'm guessing that's in about the 97th percentile of runners.

benching 150% body weight is more like 80-90th percentile.

Really? I think the 150% isn't that hard. The other seems much tougher to me.

I can get under 5 min and if I trained for that distance I think 4m30sec would be as low as I could go. I have never got my bench over 120% and I tried pretty hard for a year or so till I just started to maintain.

But I think running is more about putting up with pain. Lifting for one rep is just more genetic. I just think that cuz i suk at it. lol

I honestly don't know what i could do a mile in but 4:30 seems pretty fast. At 160-165 I used to push 265.

I have benched 150% of my body weight and the fastest I could run was a 6:30 mile. Of course, if I worked harder at the running aspect, I'd say I could get it down to a 6 minute mile but that's about it.

265 sounds impossible to me

I have a very weak bench the guys I workout with are always surprised/disgusted.

It's been a few years since I did a timed mile but I remember the day I broke 5 min I won't be doing it again if I have a choice. Major pain.
