all-in. he NEVER checks the nuts on the river here [/ QUOTE ] Ditto - how could he possibly check with J8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] here. Everyone has checked the whole time...the odds of it checking thru here would be high also. The only question for me is whether min-raise or push is higher EV |

Everyone has checked the whole time...the odds of it checking thru here would be high also. The only question for me is whether min-raise or push is higher EV [/ QUOTE ] This is my thinking. If the guy has the gusto to raise J8s UTG and check it all the way through his runner-runner straight flush against my nut flush, and then has the presence of mind to check raise me gigantic, he can have my stack. I pushed. He thought for a minute, typed in "haha" into the chat (I was SURE he had the straight flush), and called with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (!!). Afterwards, he claimed that he was playing too many tables, and didn't know there was a flush on the board. He also said he was down $1500 in two days. I believe him on both counts. |

Re: Deep $100 max hand
You should post harder hands. But this one was fun because you got such weak/tight advice that I got to laugh a lot.

Re: Deep $100 max hand
I'll post some harder hands when I get back home. I just wanted to see how many people wanted to raise small vs. push vs. call. I thought about calling for about half a nanosecond.

Re: Deep $100 max hand
As an aside, especially with big stacks, I think overbetting with massive hands is a great idea.
Since most 2+2'ers are relatively tight compared to maniacs on 6-max, overbets make you look a lot crazier than you really are. Raising larger than average with premium hands (AA/KK/QQ) is a great way to foster the same type of thought. |
