i know you're just going to tell me that he won't 3-bet bluff on the river, but anyways, against a very aggressive very suspcious player i am showing this down so i'd just call the river bet.

Don't raise the river if you are going to fold to a 3-bet against a tricky, aggressive player.

4-straight, 3-flush, a number of possible two-pair holdings... but you know this already, or you wouldn't be playing 30/60. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Calling doesn't look to be much more or less EV than raising.

I hate quoting and not writing anything but you summed up my thoughts perfectly. this is one of my biggest philosophies. don't make a thin raise or a thin value bet against a LAG if you have to make a marginal fold

I don't think the river fold (to a 3-bet) is marginal at all. If a LAG is bluffing here, he'll CR.

Anyway, I don't like the river raise. I find it real hard to believe he's bet/calling a worse hand here.

I just hate folding to them. I feel like any fold to him in a big pot is marginal unless we know they play reasonably. I wasn't even thinking bluff. I was thinking randomly played KT or something

a hand I played today... I have J2s in the BB and get a free play. flop is JJ4 and there is a super LAG behind me. SB bets 3-handed, I call, LAG calls. turn puts a 3-flush, it's checked to me, and I check figuring he'll take a stab at it because he's super aggro, but he checks behind. river is a blank. the SB bets, I raise, and the LAG 3-bets. SB folds and I pay him off. he had QJ and checked through the turn then 3-bet the river with trips and NONE of the suit. I'm still baffled by his play

this is why my went to showdown is 37.5 over my last 80K hands.
