Default Annoying Party Pop-ups

I've already had three of these in less than 30 minutes that pop-up in the middle of the screen, and unlike with Pokerstars I can't see the option to turn them off.

Anybody else had them and know how to turn them off?

I don't know much about computer programing, but could this be a form of bot prevention, with an added bonus of advertising for party?
