Our high school had a football team that usually went to state, etc. We had plenty of guys. The wrestling coach really wanted a piece of me, though.

I remember in 10th grade somehow I got junior PE instead of sophomore PE, and all the juniors did was play a bunch of games. No real physical fitness thing.

So we played football once, and this 18 year old in the class was QB. He told me to go long.

So I did... ran down to the endzone, looked up and saw the football in the air to me (of course I was completely open).

The thing hit me square in the chest, threw me back about 3-4 yards, but I held onto it.

That's my sports memory.
