How Badly Did I Play This?

I know that calling the raise was probably a mistake but the raiser was raising any hand he played. My big question is about slow playing the 2 pair. How big a mistake is that?

UTG calls, Button raises, 1 fold, Hero calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, Button bets, Hero calls, UTG calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, Button bets, Hero raises, UTG folds, Button 3-bets, Hero calls.

River: (9.75 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 11.75 BB

I guess he might have a flush or a 5 if he's really raising every single hand he gets. Any more of a solid read than that?

FWIW, I like the pf call. I definitely defend this against a steal, and I think even with UTG in there you won't be in too much trouble postflop.

if he is raising any hand (or just a whole lot of hands) the 87o is an OK call. go to war on the flop, he will probably be willing to do so with lots of worse hands.

Put more money in on the flop. Bet-3bet or Check-raise depending on your opponent's aggression/hand range. This is not a good flop to slowplay.

Blind defense isn't too bad. But then you should raise the flop and lead the turn.

If he raises the turn, call down.

Let me clarify. I meant he is raising or folding preflop. A lot of times with nothing.

I am still confused, but if he has any semblance of hand selection, then I would fold pre flop in a 3-way pot.

He has no hand selection pre flop. Raises preflop anything with a face card.

I see my big mistake was trying to slow play the flop and post flop, basically giving him a chance to catch up.

don't be results oriented, he sucks out (assumption from the tone of your post) regardless of the flop play
