Default baby geese and beavers

with spring here in montana, i have the same mother goose in the same nest this year. it is right below the house in the river on a pile of logs. took the usual 30 days for the babies to hatch. right now there is a giant pile of down in the nest. nothing to see but that. no heads poking out. i suspect over a dozen of the little buggers will pop up soon.
then she will take them down river quickly.
five beaver are at work in the same stretch of river. a few are this years young. it is fun watching them cut down trees and also little willows. there is also a beaver in my pondt daming up the outflow saving me the trouble of getting wet and muddy.

That's awesome. Maybe you should throw it an apple, carrot, potato, or a fish you catch (must be dead/fresh) to say thanks.

only a few fish in the ponds as they are fairly shallow and are formed by springs on the property. the water is probably too clear for them but big fish wont last too long as there is also a small family of otters that live around the place. they clean out the fish pretty well.

The Venetian canals have been home to six baby ducks and their parents for the past few weeks. I go by there occassionally during my walks and feed them crackers.

Baby ducks are cute.

stop by a feed store. you know farm and ranch or horse place. and get a 50 lb. bag of cracked corn for 6 bucks. that beats the white flour thats not so good for them.
feels good hanging around animals doesnt it.

Victoria, B.C. this past Christmas:

$1 bag of duck food from local feed store + 5 yr old Niece + 2 yr old Nephew + 1,000 ducks = good times.
