Putting him on a range of TT, 88-33, 97s, 87s, 85s, 75s, 54s and you're a 46/54 dog. Throw in some possibility of complete air and non-suited holdings, even the possibility of the nuts, and you're probably still +EV.

i don't think the BB plays QQ-AA this way. I'd also expect TT or JJ to reraising/pushing a good percentage the the time preflop. Huge overbet, it's either two small pairs, a draw + pair (66, 88, 46, 56, 67, 78), or just a single pair of 7s. I don't think he raises all-in w/ anything better than two pair.

I would really hope I had a read. Honestly, I've only invested 600 chips, so I would probably chicken out and fold. But I think it's probably a call, given the semibluffing possibilities and range I defined.

it felt pretty scary, but i called. villain has 85o for pair + g/s and i dodge a bunch of outs.

i was expecting to get hated on for this one. it felt kind of fishy to be putting in a lot of chips way behind or moderately ahead. i think it's pretty close.

Nah. I think you played this just fine. And thinking about it with the weak continuation bet followed by your weak call, the BB could push here with an even wider range of hands then I first presented. I think this might be one of those "close calls" that feels much closer than they really are once you sit back and think through things.

a decent chunk of my thinking was "he wouldn't push with a set."

do you think there's any legitimacy to that? i don't see big overbets with sets much, but i also just don't see people's cards after big overbets very often.

Seems to me that the hand will play much better if you try to get a read on the raiser btf. What about reraising to 900 or so. This may get rid of the BB and, if you are reraised you can be pretty sure that you ran into a premium pair and can fold confident that you are behind. A call by MP2 would seem to indicate that he is on a big A or KQs or the like and you can then lead strong into this flop, probably taking it down right there.
Now on to the other posts.
