Default Top Set, Nasty Board

PP$100 6-max, .5/1 blinds

Hero is UTG+1 with KK and $100. 1 Limper, hero raises $4, Villan 1 (BB) calls $4, Villan2 (limper) calls $4.

Hero raises to $4, villan 1 and villan 2 call.

Flop ($15)

K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

V1 bets $4, V2 calls, Hero calls (?)

Turn ($27): 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

V1 checks, V2 bets $10, hero raises to $35, V2 calls.

River ($97) 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Villan checks, Hero bets all in.

Who guns the flop here? Who pushes the river? My plan is to raise any blank turn, call any scary turn and hope to fill up. With the money left, if I gun it out on the flop and I get a nasty turn I could be all in right there. By keeping the pot small I can give myself flexability.

I raise the flop. Apparently over in the mid-high forum it has been said an advanced play it to flat call on the flop, but against simpler opponents I always raise.

Yeah I push the river too

I definitely raise the flop...once you do that, the rest of the hand plays a little differently

Board is a little too coordinated to screw around with top set. I really don't like flat calling here. Lots of cards can either kill your action or lose you the hand. You may be able to squeeze some value out of a hand like K10, Q10, J10 or a pair+diamond draw on the flop. You do have position though and that makes a flop flat call not as bad IMO.
