Firstly, there are those who argue that God HAS done something in our lifetime to manifest himself to man. Some believers point to Katrina or The Quake as proof of God's existence; non-believers point to the same as "signs" of God's detachment or apathy towards man. The point is, miracles by themselves neither can nor will lead you to belief. What can then you may ask. I dont know what can make you believe. I do believe however that there are Christians who have seen something that has persuaded them. Nothing they saw can persuade you, and hopefully nothing you say can dissuade them. Im inclined to believe that there must be some true willingness to believe in the possibility of Christ's claims before one can begin to see them in any objective light. Maybe it's the slight sarcasm but i get the impression that most people upon seeing some grand "miracle" in the sky will shrug it off as some scientific anomaly and proceed to jeer at Christians claiming it as some act of God. You seek a miracle, but the miracle has already happened. You must but see it. The sign of Jonah. Jonah, by the way, was swallowed by a whale and stayed in his belly for three days. Take it as you may.

Hey,

Google "Miracle of the Sun" and "Fatima"

Seems 70,000 people experienced something of Old Testament magnatude in 1917.

But, seeing as you're thoroghly unimpressed with anything short of the Lord firing a thunderbolt up your backside, I don't expect you to care much.

yeah but those are events that can, to some extent, be predicted and explained. I want to see an inexplicable column of fire extending into space.

c'mon, you think the Earth flew closer to the sun for a few minutes? or did the sun increase in size and then just as quickly decrease? wouldn't the whole earth have been affected if this had been the case?

The point of faith is that you dont have proof. If God showed himself all hte timeyoud have no choice BUT to believe in him. He obviously doesntwant that.

Plus there is always the standard "God worksin mysterious ways" argument.

That you and your hubris exists is compelling evidence of HIS mercy.

or that god doesn't exist
or that god doesn't mind the hubris.

why do you demean god by claiming he is harmed by hubris and so needs to be merciful?
