Default Front Side Bus

Am looking at two laptops

Each has a gig of memory. One would have a 2mhz Intel M chip and a 400 mhz FSB. The other would have a 1.86 mhz chip and a 533 mhz FSB.

Any way to judge which will have better performance? Or am I likely not to notice?

I'm guessing that performance would be pretty close. Probably depends on what you're doing with each machine.

I think you mean 2Ghz and 1.86Ghz since otherwise you're talking about 15 year old computers

Can you find out what kind of chip each has? The biggest determining factor will be the L2 cache (more is better). Assuming they both have something like 512k, I would take the box with the faster bus.
