Default Yankees/Sox series, what do I do?

Here is the scenario, I'd appreciate any advice or opinions. When the Yankees/Red Sox series was 3-0 in favor the Yanks, my friend and I agreed to split $500 50/50 and bet on the Red Sox to win this series. We then put $250 on the series price to win $3,525 and bet the other $250 on the Sox to win Game 1. We then proceeded to press with our balance on Game 2 as well as Game 3 on the Sox and we now find that we are in a very peculiar situation.
A difficult yet pleasant spot that I have yet to encounter in my sports betting days. These are our options at this point. We can continue to press on the Red Sox withour cash balance of $1909 (line is currently at +144) and if the BoSox win- we'd get a total of approx $8,000, if the skankies win we get nothing and we're out our initial $500 investment . OR we have an option of hedging out bets, by taking the Yankees at -152, we are then gaurenteeing ourselves a solid gain nonetheless. And our 3rd option is to not press our balance on the Game 7, and if the Yanks win we lose our series bet but keep the remaining 1900 and show a profit of 1400, and if the sox win, collect 5675 with a profit of $5,100! So what do we do?
I should also add that if I won 4k it would be a significant amount of money to me and losing $250 is nothing really. My friend is in a similar position as me. We are both amicable, and I'm sure there will be no stress between the friendship if we end up with $0 at the end of this! However, I want to win the $8,000 just because it would be serious (and a great story)!

Any advice would be appreciated.

I recall reading an article a few years ago where the writer made a preseason bet on a football team to win the superbowl. well the day arrives and his long shot is in the game. his original bet was 50 to 1 fro $100. The writer decided to bet $2,500 on the opponent, thereby guaranteeing ~25 times return on his initial investment.

If you hedge your ALCS series bet with a game 7 nyy bet for $1909, you would have about $3100 if the skanks win or about $3200 if the sox win. You'd be guaranteed a minimum return of half of $3100. Not too shabby to turn $250 into $1550. And then you would be able to focus all your energy on rooting with your heart. go bosox i suppose?

Let it ride on the Sox baby!!!!.. LOL just kidding.. smart thing would be to hedge to at least be able to show a nice profit, but if you are a pure gambler then let ir ride on the Sox. They are gonna break the curse with the Yankees but the Stros are going all the way.

Personally, I would definitely choose option 3, to not press the individual game bet, and just ride the Sox to win the series bet. This way you are assured of some money, but since you are obviously on fire with your betting, you would still have a chance to win the big money.

I like option three.

You could always press on another event if this one bottoms out and still have a shot at 5k

Well we agreed to place a smallish wager on Game 7 ($400) and still win $500 each profit if the Yanks won. Anyway here are the final results:

Balance
6,323.24 USD
