Default Banal top pair hand?

Hi Folks!

Disclaimer: This hand might seem really run of the mill to some- probably best not to bother reading it if that's going to irk you...

Party Poker $25 6-max

Been at the table for about 1/2 an hour playing tighter than usual following advice in previous posts!

I (~$30) raise Ace Queen to $2 in seat 4, both blinds join me for a flop of Ace King Jack rainbow. Small blind (has me covered) bets out $3 and big blind (~$20 back) calls... what's your play?

Small blind seems very straight forward, my read: he has a bit of this flop, he'd probably bet a half decent king or any ace. I suspect he would of slow played a straight, probably even a set. I dont think he is observant enough to notice he is betting into a preflop raiser.

Big Blind has exhibited calling station tenancies, this call could be anything.

I assume the correct play here is to raise, i raised to $10 and both folded. The problem I have with the hand is that i think I would only of been called if I was beat. Would a smaller raise be appropriate? Or would that just enter me into a world of pain?

Cheers!

raising is fine. i probably call here usually to see what develops on the turn, but there's nothing wrong w/ your raise. if you get popped back, you're folding. if you get called, you can take a free river card. i think you want to see a showdown cheaply - and if thats not possible get out.
