Default The Hotel at Mandalay Bay

My wife wants to go to Vegas this winter and spend all of my money. Right now, she's really pushing to stay at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. Has anyone stayed there and it is really worth the $$$? The best rates I've seen so far are $300/night weekends and $200/night weekday. Anyone know of a better rate out there, or should I save my money and hole up at the Roach Motel?

Thanks

I stayed at THE Hotel last November, every room is a suite and they are excellent. I stayed 3 nights at $150 for two nights and $250 on the third night (saturday night). Saturday night was the only night it was sold out that week, party do to the Victoria Secret show at the Palms (many of the VS models stayed at The Hotel).

The Hotel rooms are very nice, in comparison way better then the average Mandalay Bay room. Is The Hotel worth the $$$ depends on what other hotels you are considering and what rates those hotels have.

Staying at a nice hotel in vegas is a cinch. Step 1: call Monte Carlo Poker room; Step 2: Tell them when u wanna stay and that you will be playing poker there ; Step 3: Stay at Monte Carlo for 1/2 off regular rate; Step 4: Enjoy the fact that they dont actually check or care whether u actually play poker there.

MBay prolly has same type of setup. I know Bellagio does but not sure if other hotels actually track your play. I stay at MCarlo because they dont.
