Why should she be jailed/fined because of this?

[/ QUOTE ]

I didn't say she should. I just think her fiance and her family should beat the **** out of her when she gets back. She voluntarily put them through hell.

Oh yeah, familial beatings I'm fine with. Just so long as there's no police punishment.

filing a false report?

perhaps she didn't actually file a report but i am pretty sure it is illegal to give the police fake leads, or generate a false report, or just make up crimes...

It is. The reason she's not charged with anything is cause she's a woman. Some dumb [censored] at my schoool made up a story about being raped, and police let her off the hook.

Wife and I were just laughing about this.

Coldfeet is unfortunately not a crime, and either is lying (without a real crime) or we poker players would all be in deep.

Her BF should dump her quick now!
She's going to be too much baggage now, getting stared at and cussed at in public for years to come, well hell maybe he likes that kind of thing.

LOL!

I think she should be forced to marry each of the 7 folks suing Denny's for $28 Million, they deserve each other.

On the + side she did survive a LONG bus ride ALONE, I've been on a LONG bus ride before, it's almost torture.

I'm pretty sure I will not be the only outraged person here.

I sure hope you are. This is far too meaningless to get anybody "outraged".

There was a false police report for maybe 4 hours before she changed her story. It's not like she had cops out searching the hillsides for a week and a half before telling them the truth. Nobody should ever get charged for something like this.

You don't find this woman's treatment of her fiance, friends, and family outrageous? How about the way she chose to run away rather than deal with the predicament she was in? Or the implication that what she did was understandable because of all the "pressure" she was under?

I'm pretty hyper-sensitive to personal commitments, I guess, but this got under my skin. I couldn't care less about what the police do with her, I'm talking about the complete lack of personal responsibility and consideration for others.

I blame the fiance. If he cant keep her in line now then he never is going to be able to.

They should give the fiance a fine of about $25 to make a point.
